My Personal Review of “Article Marketing Automation” and Tips  on Pre-processing Your Article for Better Article Spinning

This post got much longer than I expected. Although  I have included very little sales talk, most of the content is either entertaining or good Article Marketing and SEO information for beginners and not too beginners. So for those, who are interested in sharing experience or/and would like to learn more on the repeatable process for on how I use the  Article Marketing Automation (AMA) service in combination with SEO to improve my rankings and point you to some FREE, information,  services, software, read on. The others may skip this post. Now let’s get going…

I created this Article to encourage and give us newbies similar chances to getting one of the prizes the  Article Marketing Automation Christmas Competition offers, and to see whether I can get some extra dollars for Christmas. Yes, I am a beginner too! Although I have been able to make a living doing SEO and SEM for my customers in the last years, (they keep me busy, so I have little time to dedicate on my personal Internet Marketing adventure. But first things first, my family), so far I have not made more than $3500 earnings with my personal Internet Marketing activities. I did have much more revenue, but initially I also dumped a lot of money trying  lots of different things out. and buying every “Internet Marketing and Making Money Online Guides” out there.  I have probably read  less that a 10% and form that 10% I may have applied only another 20% . Hmmm.. summing up, that a whopping 2,5% of ROI on these purchases,  not counting the time I have wasted! .

Regarding my Internet Marketing adventure, some of my projects worked out ok, but on most I failed miserably. Heck! Why should you listen top me? Probably because lately I have been getting better, I learned some oth the lessons (there will be more to come) and I am applying some of the stuff I have learned . I think the main reason for my disaster may have been that I was jumping too much from one “opportunity” to the other, instead of  further refining some of the processes that  had only little losses were  braking even.  Well I won’t bore you with my “success stories”, but what I wanted tell you is related,…Lets move on…

In any case, I thought I might share the process I use for Article Marketing Automation and the external resources with my fellow article marketers. This way you don’t have to reinvent the wheel again. Experts, please do not kill me, I just want to give the beginners a chance too. And maybe you also have some suggestions Let this competition be based on quality work, not quantity. This is also why I had proposed some kind of limits in positing #12.

I just started using AMA and am fairly new to Article Marketing and Article Marketing Automation. But I am good at SEO, and for what I have seen, I believe AMA is very powerful, but only if you know how take advantage of it without spending too much time on activities that can be outsourced (article writing), simplified (rewriting) or further automated.

WHAT IS ARTICLE MARKETING AUTOMATION?

For the ones that have not used Article Marketing Automation yet, I will give you a very brief summary that should clarify it for the ones that have not being able to appreciate the value of AMA. The Article Marketing Automation service is basically comprised of two services available to AMA members only:

1. FREE – Receive FRESH CONTENT for your website from other members. You decide how many postings and to what categories you want to receive them for each individual site you own and add to the system. The only work you have to do to make sure SE’s consider your site worthwhile indexing, visiting frequently and ranking higher, is to set up your website posting access details (not pure HTML) in the system, basically the website address, and a user with authoring access rights that will post others articles.
2. PAID – Take any article with a maximum of three links, create word and phrase variations, put it into the comprised of two spinner and get your article variations published on the other member’s sites (get QUALITY, UNIQUE, BACK-LINKS!). You do not need to have your own site in the AMA system to be able to use this paid service.

If you are interested in knowing more about the Article Marketing Automation (AMA) membership, FIRST go here to see what it is all about, and then you may  sign-up for a free account. Once on the AMA sales page, go to Contact, and there you will find a link for signing up for the FREE Article Marketing Automation membership account.  Yes! this is quite hidden. I don’t know why they have placed it there, but in the forum there are also links for signing up to the free AMA account. After the seven day trial y can only receive content from Article Marketing Automation members, but can not publish articles anymore. This is still a very valuable service.

But now comes the BEST…. If go to the forum and sign up for the AMA Christmas Competition, you will get a full 30 Days PAID membership. But hurry, the competition  is about to begin and will last for 30 days. So, I suppose that there will be some quite experienced people participating in the competition, but a lot won’t be Article Markeging and SEO cracks at the same time, and then there is our group, the ones that are either beginners or not  too experienced. This article is target to the latter one. Some seem to struggle with external links and SEO. As I said, I am good at SEO, and am starting getting along now with the Article Marketing Automation services. Lets share…

HOW CAN I TAKE ARTICLE MARKETING AUTOMATION TO THE NEXT LEVEL?

So, if you are interested, in learning how I use Article Marketing Automation + (basic) SEO, here we go…

The best way I think to get MOST “spun” AND meaningful articles seems to be to creating a # of variations of as many phrases as possible and within the phrases, have as many words/parts of each phrase replaced with at least 2-3 synonyms. I am not sure if what I will be showing you is the best process, but it works for me and it took me quite some time to figure it out. Here are the basics: I create synonym rich phrases, which is pretty easy to do, but only few variations of these phrases, as the synonyms already make sure I getting a lot of variations spun. Easy to delivers high (quality) output.

In order to ease the changes and spinning and avoid manual errors, I do the following semi manual pre-processing:

1. I use Word (or a similar product) for cleanup, global changes, finding synonyms (right click) and spell checking.
2. Copy your text into Word and clean up special “characters” (i.e. ´, “,”, into ‘ and “) You may have to change the smart quote settings (Tools > Auto Correct Options > AutoFormat as you Type” >  “straight quotes” with “smart quotes”). Smart quotes and alike don’t work with some article directories and distributors!
3. Prepare second level spinning first. Yes! You will understand why it is better to go from inside to the outside as you apply it.
   1. Place a space in front of every paragraph sign (Needed for next step.). The symbol for the line brake is “l”): Replace all “^p” with ” ^p”
   2. Create a new line for every phrase: Replace every period + space “.” with a “.^p
      You may have to repeat the same for “?” and “!” signs too.
   3. Eliminate all double empty lines: Replace ^p^p^p with ^p^p
   4. (optional) Eliminate all single EMPTY lines and marks them with zzz: Replace ^p^p with ^pzzz  (zzz will be used to restore  the empty line later on again)
      Note: I created a simple macro for the above steps.
   5. Now we have every main phrase in on single paragraph and can see it in its context too, we can find meaningful synonyms more easily and create a variation of every phrase, but STOP! This will be done once we have found our synonyms first. I have created a macro that makes this process fairly quick and almost syntax error free. As you start replacing you will find some general synonyms, that can be used for global replacements, i.e [boy|son|kid]: Replace all “boy” (match type = whole word!) with [boy|son|kid].
   6. Done! The second level spinning pre-process is finished.
4. Now we prepare the first level spinning. Copy the initial phrase (including all the nice word synonyms we have already) and create variation(s) for every phrase.
5. Apply first level AMA syntax: Put every phrase variation between curly brackets, “{}” and separate phrases with “~”. (Tip, use a MS Word macro)
6. Submit your article through the Article Marketing Automation system.
   

Tip: If you replace the square , [], and curly brackets, {}, to the same again, but with the highlight colour option in the replace “to” word selected, you get a nicely coloured – Article Marketing Automation- formatted, better readable text. You could even to this in the macros already. I did so in the latest versions below.

AND WHAT’s ABOUT SEO AND ARTICLE MARKETING AUTOMATION?

Finally, here comes some basic and easily applicable SEO rules + complementary promotion activities that are important, and everybody should apply when creating web content or writing their articles, not only Article Marketing Automation articles. Remember why I failed before? Because I did not stick to some of the things to do I already know that work. You don’t need to do all the tasks, but each one adds up, until you get to the point where small changes and additions can have a huge impact. You can also focus in just some an put your time on those to make them working. But be asured, If you are in a competivive market Article Marketing alone is not enough. You need to add additional SEO and Social Marketing strategies.

1. Use your keywords in title and subtitles, and body text, with a total keyword density of not more than 2-3% (eZineArticles only allows only a max. of 2%). Bold, underline or add links to your keywords. Your keywords should be the anchor text. You can get a FREE tool that calculates the keyword density for a given keyword/phrase in a text (load or copy-paste in to the windows) and additionally compares two articles and calculates the duplication percentage. Nice article validation utility, isn’t it?  Click here  to go to the download page. NO signup required .
2. As a rule of thumb, you should always publish your original article first on your site and wait until Google has indexed your page. How do you know: Go to google.com and search with the following string: “site:www.mysite.com “MyPageName”". Your page, MyPageName, should show up when Google has indexed your page. It may take 3-15 days for normal sites. Even if you spin your article, you want to make sure that Google knows your site as the original content provider. If others get the merit your article/post/page may not be even indexed!
   
3. Take variations of your articles and use them on external resources like article directories, your other sites and micro-blogging sites, like hubpages and squido. Some of the article directories allow for automated submission, which can be a good time saver too. You may want to have a look at my Article Writing and Article Submission Software review site. (Again an affiliate link ). I should be adding Article Marketing Automation in the near future to this Article Software review site. I Personally purchased and use MASS Article Control, which has two components:  Automated article subission, which I still use, as it it complmentary to AMA. Bear in mind that the AMA service does NOT inlude Article Directory submissions!  The second component is a semi-automated article creation software, which is similar to the Spinner component of Article Marketing Automation. It has a more user friendly interface than AMA but doen’t have the same power as AMA,  MASS Articel Control also does not inlcude the real strong aspect of submission of your spun articles with 3 of your links to the Article Marketing Automation membership sites. AMA is by far better on this side. On the other hand, MASS Article Control is a one off payment, and if you decide to not get the paid AMA memebership to use AMA for article spinning, MASS Article Control is a very good choice (for some reason it was #1 in my Article software review and has already generated mor than $1.000.000 of revenue for the software creators).
   A litte sidenote; Why not get the FREE 15,000 articles for about 240 niches by simply by filling in your email in the box on the top, left hand side of the Article Writing and Article Submission Software review site? Take,  rewrite/spin the articles, and distribute them with AMA and by other means with your links to get the sweet “Link Juice”. Back to our topic…
4. Social Bookmark your postings at www.digg.com, twitter, facebook and alike.
5. Search for blogs and forum with related content and post comments with links back to your article.

Well, in a nutshell, that was my Article Marketing Automation process, combined with SEO and Social Marketing activities. As it broken down into clearly defined tasks,  it also easy to be outsourced, for any given article used in AMA. I you have outsourced writing articles on www.elance.com and rewriting to another, less expensive, resource on scriptlance.com (Ooops, this is another affiliate link!).

In any case you may want to make sure to verify the synonyms for each phrase (what I did), and you may also want to have the rewriter to verify the basic syntax first (I created a Word macro to correct typical errors). I don’t want to make this posting too long (it’s already much longer than I expected).    1. I created a Macro that creates the following block if you select a word (double-mouse-click to select) and then invoke the macro with your keyboard shortcut:  [myword|111|222]. Then the macro selects 111 so you are ready to type your synonyms. Very simple, but handy .
   2. Clean up text and paragraphs
   3. Correct automatically detectable syntax errors

Well, as I said before, I hope that others will follow my example and do the same.   This way we all learn from each other and we will learn how to create quality leads for AMA (the more we are the more content we can receive/distribute), the contest, and naturally, for our self

Hmmm., this has got much longer than I thought. This could have even been my review on Article Marketing Automation for the AMA Christmas competition…  I did not win any of the free lifetime AMA memberships in the Membership Giveaway contest (#77 Andre Klein) , but I may deserve one for this contribution .
